Granular Energy is pleased to announce a new partnership with Electric Ireland

Granular Energy has announced a new partnership with Electric Ireland, one of Ireland's leading electricity suppliers, to implement its certificate management platform for Guarantees of Origin (GOs) in the Irish market.

Bringing Digital Precision to GO Management

Electric Ireland will use Granular Energy's platform to manage its full GO portfolio with greater accuracy and traceability. The software replaces manual processes with a unified workflow, from forecast analysis and deal delivery through to customer reporting, connecting each step of the GO lifecycle in a single platform.

GO deals increasingly include unique terms, requiring green desk teams to keep a closer eye on the composition of their GO portfolio. Granular Energy gives Electric Ireland a clear view across contracted and forecasted positions, helping them optimise how they source and deliver in the market. Central to the partnership is a direct integration with G-REX, the Irish GO registry, keeping certificate movements up to date and tracked against individual production devices and underlying deals. For Electric Ireland's customers, this means transparent reporting and a full audit trail from generation, to GO, to delivery.

“I’m delighted that Electric Ireland is partnering with Granular Energy. Customers who choose renewable electricity contracts need clear transparency around what that really means. Granular provides that transparency, giving customers greater confidence in their renewable energy choices.” David Fusco

“Consumers all around the world are asking for more transparency on the origin of their electricity, and Ireland is no exception. We are pleased to be partnering with Electric Ireland to streamline their operations around their green offers, and help their business customers see exactly where their renewable electricity comes from. “ Bruno Menu

Carbon-Free Chronicles April 2026: The essential round-up of news and reports relating to hourly transparency

April brought the debate on clean energy procurement off the page and into the room. On 24 April, we co-hosted Next-gen Electricity Procurement with CMS in London, bringing together energy buyers, suppliers, and market participants for a morning of panels on Scope 2 reform, next-gen portfolio management, and the future of licence-exempt supply in the UK. The conversations were sharp, and the appetite for clarity on where the market is heading was clear. Beyond the event, April saw the emissions accounting debate intensify, new research quantifying just how much program design matters in carbon-free energy (CFE) procurement, the European Commission signalling its direction on time-based guarantees of origin (GO), and the UK's AI data centre energy planning revealing some uncomfortable contradictions. Here is what has been on our radar.
