A2A, First Supplier to Introduce Hourly Matching in Italy
We're thrilled to announce our entry into the Italian energy market via our work with A2A, one of the largest suppliers in Italy. A2A has launched Green Energy Match, a new product for B2B customers to get hourly visibility into their clean energy sourcing.

Italy's increasing renewable buildout (Italy aims to triple solar capacity to 80GW by 2030*) and the growth in the European guarantees of origin (GO) market* make it a compelling market for innovative green supply solutions. The energy regulator, Gestore dei Servizi Energetici has recently chosen Unicorn’s Certigy software as its registry provider, improving Italy’s certificate tracking infrastructure - and opening the possibility for granular GOs in the near future.
A2A has chosen our platform to showcase hourly matching capabilities to their B2B customers. Green Energy Match gives customers unprecedented transparency into their renewables coverage: via Granular Energy’s dashboard, they can view hourly coverage, but also information on generation type and asset information. Businesses gain transparency in their GO purchase and use this new information to demonstrate environmental leadership, report on their energy sourcing, and stay ahead of upcoming compliance and regulatory changes.
By providing this service, A2A reaches a new level of transparency and traceability, underscoring its commitment to greening its supply.
This partnership not only extends our reach to Italy but also demonstrates the global trend towards developing hourly matching tariffs and programs. We recently reported on Good Energy in the UK, and have been working on hourly matching programs in the US, China, Germany, France and beyond.
As we embark on this collaboration with A2A, we remain committed to enabling energy suppliers to manage, track and transparently report on green energy.
