Granular Energy works with TotalEnergies in the UK for green supply management
Granular Energy is working with TotalEnergies Gas & Power (TGP), one of the largest suppliers of gas and electricity to businesses in the United Kingdom, to provide energy certificate management software.

TGP is rolling this software across its clean energy portfolio in the UK. This collaboration has brought increased efficiency to TotalEnergies’ energy certificate (REGO) management processes, enables it to bring new products to market, and marks a crucial step towards more transparent reporting in green energy procurement.
Granular Energy has enabled TGP to enhance the transparency and traceability of its green energy supply for customers. TGP is now able to provide comprehensive allocation reports to its customers which show consumption against allocated volumes of renewable energy certificates, down to an hourly level. These reports feature detailed breakdowns of the technologies or assets provisioning the supply and the energy’s carbon content information. This information empowers consumers to make informed decisions about their energy purchasing choices.
Toby Ferenczi, CEO of Granular Energy, expresses his enthusiasm for our work, stating, "We’re delighted to be helping TotalEnergies to improve their certificate management, which in turn enables them to deliver more transparent, traceable green energy supply. This empowers consumers to make informed choices that align with their values."
The TGP team echoes this sentiment, highlighting the Granular Energy platform’s role in supporting a suite of renewable products, with the added option of matching consumption to renewable supply at an hourly level. “Since adopting the Granular Energy platform we’ve reviewed our renewable product offering and can offer customers increased information and traceability, with hourly matching taking it to the next level. Using the platform has also led to a significant reduction in the time required to manage the certificate portfolio, meaning we can focus on improving the customer proposition” says Anton Roberts, Commercial & Transformation Director from TotalEnergies.
At Granular Energy, we are proud to work on enhancing energy supply traceability and transparency, paving the way to a carbon-free grid.
