How Granular Energy prices its platform
Transparent, predictable costs matter when you are building green tariffs and new certificate operations that will last. Here is how our pricing works, and what drives it.
Pricing that scales with your volumes
Our pricing is volume based. You pay per MWh of certificate volume handled in your platform environment: allocated volumes (generation matched to consumption) for EAC tariff management, and transaction volumes for EAC risk management. This keeps costs proportional to the value the platform delivers, whether you are managing a modest retail portfolio or a multi-terawatt-hour trading book.
Depending on the specific use-case, a floor price typically applies, which includes your first volumes of allocation or transaction volumes. This allows us to avoid an implementation fee.
Fixed prices for the life of your commitment
Prices are locked in for the duration of your commitment. That certainty flows through to your own business: you can guarantee fixed prices on every green tariff contract you sign with your customers, without exposure to rising software costs mid-contract. For uncommitted volumes, we have our variable price - so we remain flexible.
What the platform costs
EAC product management covers annual or monthly allocations, portfolio management, automated cancellations and end-consumer reporting. Unit prices range from €0.17/MWh down to €0.005/MWh, depending on volume and contract duration.
Hourly matching management adds hourly or sub-hourly allocation and reporting, premium product development advisory, and the operational depth needed for 24/7 carbon-free offers. Pay-as-you-go allocations are priced at €0.60/MWh, while committed volumes range from €0.51/MWh down to €0.18/MWh.
EAC risk management, our front-office solution for deal capture, forward-position management and registry integration, is priced on transaction volumes and portfolio complexity, with implementation fees ranging from €10,000 to €100,000 depending on scope.
The factors affecting price
Four things determine where you land within these ranges:
Volume. Prices step down significantly through volume bands. The more MWh you allocate or transact, the lower your unit price, and commitments made over time stack, helping you reach higher bands and better rates.
Contract duration. Commitments of 12, 24 or 36 months (or more) attract progressively deeper discounts. Committing over multiple years delivers significant savings compared with pay-as-you-go pricing.
Portfolio complexity. For risk management, factors such as the number of trades, countries and assets, integrations with internal systems and registries, and any product development shape the overall price.
Breadth of services. Each service can be taken separately, but if you are interested in several parts of the Granular Energy platform, we will put together a comprehensive combined offer with significant discounts.
Designed for how energy businesses actually buy
Volume commitments start monthly, so newly signed customer contracts benefit from discounted pricing straight away rather than waiting for an annual renewal. Uncommitted prices simply apply to any volumes above your commitment, so there is no penalty for growth.
